36 posts · Joined 2023. #1 · Apr 4, 2023. Hi, a few months ago the message "key FOB battery low" popped up. I instantly replaced the battery. But the message stayed and since then it keeps popping up. Some days every time I start the car. Then again I might have a few days without message. And all of a sudden it comes back again.
Feb 7, 2008. #8. Reciever costs £250, a new key is approx £40. You can reprogram your immobilsor chip yourself and code the new key to the receiver yourself. Its just whether you want to pay £290 for a standard alarm to work or just pay £150-£250 for a toad alarm fitted which is thatcham1 approved.
try re-registering the remote (put one key in the ignition and turn it to the ‘on’ position then click the unlock button on the other key if the locks click all is well. OP.
Try, I don't know if this will work (it does for Astra mk4) put the key into the ignition and turn untill everything lights up, but don't start the engine, then press lock, unlock and open boot. I know it was commonly used to 're-sync' the astra keys. worth a shot before an expensive trip to fiat
Pull slightly on the drivers door handle to unlock both doors and hatch (conversely, push to lock everything). See the Owner's Manual. Happily my Fiat dealer found that the manual locks (both sides!) were in fact stuck-presumably through complete lack of use over the cars 5 year life. Fixed both for £116. New key with remote now on order-estimated cost over £100. Thanks for everyones help.
